What is CCD Accidental Care?

Small mishaps, such as a spilled cup of coffee or a toddler who mistakes your computer for a toy, can turn into costly repairs. CCD Accidental Care was created to cover these situations. With CCD Accidental Care, you can protect your desktop from electrical surges, accidental liquid spills, falls, and other non-intentional damage.

What kind of damage is covered?

Non-intentional damage that is caused by accidents will be covered. Some examples are:

Cause of Failure	Resolution
Liquid spilled on or in unit, Floods	Repaired or unit replaced
Drops, falls, and other collisions	Repaired or unit replaced
Electrical surge	Repaired or unit replaced
Damage or broken LCD due to a drop or fall	Repaired
Accidental breakage (multiple pieces)	Repaired or unit replaced

Damage caused by intentional acts, fire, theft or loss, is not covered under CCD Accidental Care. Some examples of damage that would not be covered are:

Damage in a fire	Not covered - possible insurance coverage
Intentional damage (hammer marks)	Not covered - user responsible
Stolen unit	Not covered - possible insurance coverage
Normal wear	Not covered

How is the repair/replacement handled?

If an incident occurs, you can call CCD's technical support line to report the problem. CCD technicians will ask you a series of questions designed to determine the extent and cause of the damage or failure. Depending on your system type, the cause and extent of damage, and other service options that you have purchased, CCD will initiate appropriate repair or replacement services. The services may include shipment of customer replaceable parts, dispatch of onsite service personnel, or initiation of whole unit exchange procedures.
